Happening: The Affordable Art Fair

The Affordable Art Fair starts tonight in NYC and I wish wish wish I could be there. I started collecting very small works about four years ago and this art fair provides the opportunity for collectors with a minimal budget to purchase works from many up and coming artists. Work is priced between $100 and $10,000 and the fair is open to the public until Sunday. Ticket prices are only $15 for students but it is free on friday from 6-8p.m. If for some reason, you're mulling around NYC this weekend, I suggest a stop by. You might just discover the next big thing, or at the very least, you'll probably find something more interesting than that Bob Marley poster to hang on your wall. If, like me, you are sadly unable to attend the Fall 2010 AAF, never fear, for there will be another one this spring from May 5th-8th in the same location. For this Fall event,  20x200 (the Jen Beckman project) will be attending with some beautiful prints by photographer Jeremy Kohm, that I'd like to see in person. I's also like to see the Dentiza paintings presented by Art Bazaar, paintings by Lionel Pratt presented by the Muriel Guepin Gallery, The David Meanix photosculptures presented by Krause Gallery, and especially Vanessa Smith's works presented by Mark Jason Gallery.
